A Std 1 Class of 1965 - Tunku Abdul Malik (Kulim)

Names like Tan Kheng Kear, Madzalan Omar (possibly), Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad, A Bathmanathan, Sazali, Mohd Nasir Isa, Cikgu Rashid, Headmaster V Govindaraj, Wan Balkis, late Ustaz Kamarulzaman, Shanmugam, Allias Ishak & Ram Naidu.

Badminton Heros of 1970

These were friends from Tunku Abdul Malik Primary School a year before we went over to Sultan Badlishah School. As far as badminton is concerned they were the best in school and they were the best in Southern Kedah. Namely Lee Boon Eng, Alan Tan Kheng Kear, Dr Abdul Aziz Ahmad, ?, Subhas Malakar and the the Teacher in charge Mr. Cheah Eng Khoon, ? and the Headmaster.

Abdul Rahman Bin Abdul Wahid - Where are you?

Where are you, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Wahid? The last time I met him was probably in the early 1980’s when he was staying in Section 17 Petaling Jaya. Abdul Rahman was one of my earlier childhood friends living in Padang Serai, Kedah and we went to the same primary school together in Kulim.

I used to visit him at his home in a Police barrack back in Padang Serai and later his family moved to a new house at Jalan Bagan, Padang Serai which was nearer to my house. I can still remember his mother vividly and she was always nice to us. I would like to see him again. Should anyone knows his where about please do contact me?

This old photo of a primary school from Sekolah Tunku Abdul Malik probably in the year of 1971 or 1972 extracted from Mr. Zambri Yaccob's facebook account. My younger brother, Sin Yong Lim was in this class. So were Idrus Yahya, Rashid and Ahmad Salleh @ Mat Tombe.

These are some of the available names seen in this classic photograph Bathmanathan, Tan Kheng Kear, Sazali, Md Nasir Isa, Cikgu Rashid, Head Master V Govindaraj, Wan Balkis, Uztaz Kamarulzaman(arwah), Alias Ishak, Mat Saad, Ram Naidu...

And most of them ended up in Sultan Badlishah School which is just next to each other for their further studies in Secondary education.

I found Tan Kheng Kear a Friend since Primary School

I can consider Tan Kheng Kear as one of the earlier friends I met when I moved from Penang to Padang Serai during my primary school days. There were no English School in Padang Serai and my dad had to put me in Kulim at Sekolah Rendah Tunku Abdul Malik.  An extract of a photo when we were in Standard Six. He was stting at the extreme right.

I have lost contact of him when I went to Kuala Lumpur to do my form Six in 1976. I am very happy to get reconnected with him and hoping to see him in person soon. Thanks again to Facebook.

He was active in sport like Badminton, Basketball & Hockey.

 They were young they can show off the bare chests, just imagine Abdul Rahim posing again with Kheng Kear bare chest.

He posted a recent picture of him and my maternal Uncle who happened to be our teacher in Sultan Badlishah School.
