Mr. P.S. Rou was the Teacher in charge of this Tennis Club, he has successfully revived this game of tennis in the school. The school merged as runners-up to Sultan Abdul Hamid College (Alor Setar) in 1973. And later Champions in 1974 for both U-18 and U-15 Boys Teams.
The Malakar’s family was well known in this game not only in Kulim but in the whole of Kedah state. They are Subhas Chandra, Probhat and Robindranath. Besides these brothers there were names like Ishkhandar Damis, Md Lan Allanie, Albumin Saimin, Joy Selamat, Ng Hun Boon, Ventonius, Arbait Boro, Misran Sainoh and Azizan Ariffin whom have helped to make a good name in this sport in Kedah.
