Autographs by Friends from Badlishah 1975

Before we left school in 1975 to pursue in our own destiny we exchanged autographs from one another and after that we did not see each other.

This particular autograph was from Annuar Othman, we were together in the primary in Sekolah Tunku Abdul Malik until Sultan Badlishah School.

Look at the background there are so many coconut trees behind, a school in a tropical resort setting. This is also my first time in a co-ed class.

On this day, February 11 1997 where all Malaysians celebrated Aidil Fitri and Chinese New Year jointly. We, the Ex-Badlishians had a great time meeting up with old friends in  Kulim.

We will be gathered again his coming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri on September 12, 2010 at the school's hall Dewan Samsudin. I hope to see more friends this time. Meanwhile selamat berpuasa my Muslim friends.

A Jam Session During Our Kuala Lumpur Educational Excursion in 1974

I have posted this picture before in August 16 2007 at my "hApPy HaPpY" blog. Of late there is an interesting interaction among Ex-Badlishians at the Facebook where for information was able to be shared and recorded.

 

If I am not wrong, we were housed at a secondary school called SMK Aminuddin Baki, Jalan Kampong Pandan, Kuala Lumpur.

It was late and time to sleep but we were still having a good fun at a jam session where Hamzah on the microphone, Wong Kok Choo, Ho Nee Soon and Chang Siew Ming strumming their guitars. The back up singers were Chandra, Solomon and 2 others. And myself at the drum.

We were the Champ in Kedah in 1974. We beat Abdul Hamid College, Ibrahim School, Sg Petani, Jenan Jitra. We were the power in Kedah for Relay Team 4X100m.

Sunder was a small size kid but he was fast and was good in his dribble.

As far as this game is concerned I was first being introduced by Mr. Malakar of Sekolah Tunku Abdul Malik (Primary School) though I did not represent the school but I still remember the few football techniques I picked up from him.

A Game made popular by Mr. P.S. Rao

Mr. P.S. Rou was the Teacher in charge of this Tennis Club, he has successfully revived this game of tennis in the school. The school merged as runners-up to Sultan Abdul Hamid College (Alor Setar) in 1973. And later Champions in 1974 for both U-18 and U-15 Boys Teams.

The Malakar’s family was well known in this game not only in Kulim but in the whole of Kedah state. They are Subhas Chandra, Probhat and Robindranath. Besides these brothers there were names like Ishkhandar Damis, Md Lan Allanie, Albumin Saimin, Joy Selamat, Ng Hun Boon, Ventonius, Arbait Boro, Misran Sainoh and Azizan Ariffin whom have helped to make a good name in this sport in Kedah.

Reunion Gathering cum Hari Raya Aidil Fitril Celebration 2010

On this day 09 August 2010 we met up at Atria, Damansara Jaya for the first time since we left Sultan Badlishah School in the early 1974. Not that long but for nearly 36 years we did not see or hear from each other. I am glad I met up with him Anuar Shamsuddin.

This is part of our Form One Merah class photo taken in 1971. Together with Hamzah Wahiddudin & Rohaizat Hashim whom both have just met in Kulim on 7 August 2010.

Yesterday a meeting among Badlishians of 1974 & 1975 was held at Kulim Inn to organise a reunion which is long over due. But it will be awesome to meet again after all these years. Thank you very much to these people who are organizing it. Syabas!!!

1971 Form 1 Merah - From Happy Happy

Most of my classmates here were previously from the same primary school (Sekolah Rendah Tunku Abdul Malik), which is just next to this secondary school @ Jalan Kelang Lama, Kulim.
We were fortunate to meet new friends from Sabah, they were Sahat Sadikun, Ambrose Chin, Kassim Putih, Raymond and Arbait Boro. Unfortunately, we have lost contact after we have completed our fifth form. Hopefully one day we will bump into each other and share our good old memories. I am seated at the extreme right.

Our form teacher was Miss Loh Guat Sim, wonder where is she now?
